by Vinnie Tortorich

Episode 2081 – On this Friday show, Anna Vocino joins Vinnie again in a continuation of last week’s show to talk more NSNG® basics, including Ultra Fat nut butters, necessary macros, paradigm shifts, the 411 on various vegetables, starches, and flours, and more.

NECESSARY MACROS

  • We have a certain number of sugar in our bodies to maintain homeostasis.
  • This is about 1 tsp.
    • You do not need to eat more sugar to get this.
    • Your body can do it through gluconeogenesis — turning protein into sugar.
  • Your body only really needs two macros: fat and protein.
  • Brains prefer to run on fat!
  • Plenty of people do ultra events without taking in any sugar.
    • Some will fast, and some will just eat fat.

NSNG® BASICS

  • This way of eating is cutting out sugars and grains (and things that your body treats as such, like starches).
  • It’s not cutting out everything like vegetables.
    • Some people do carnivore, but that’s not strictly what NSNG® is.
    • The best vegetables are broccoli, cauliflower, and Brussels sprouts.
  • Eat nuts in moderation — but raw nuts like almonds or cashews.
  • If you’re eating real food, you don’t need to count your macros.
  • Nothing happens overnight here — it’s a paradigm shift.
  • Avoid tapioca, cassava, etc., flours.
  • Look at the ingredients. You’ll be surprised by what you find in your ‘healthy’ foods.
  • Don’t rely too much on the store-bought stuff.
  • Just because it says ‘keto’ doesn’t mean it is low-carb of NSNG®.

TRACKING METRICS

  • Having some measurable metric can be good for some people.
    • It might be helpful to have to meet some step goal or something of the like.
    • Fitbits and other similar products might be useful for this type of person.
  • But for others, metrics can be too distracting or too obsession-inducing.
    • Vinnie thinks this was the case for Howie and might be the case for him.
  • Now, he did get an advanced scuba watch.
    • Then, he realized it tracks steps.
      • He realized his minimum was around 11k steps.

EXPO WEST

  • We will be at this expo in Anaheim.
  • It’s next Wed – Fri, the 9th through 11th.
  • Find us in the ‘hot products’ section.
    • Anna will be there for one day as well.
  • Don’t forget your vax card for entry!

NSNG® GROCERY SHOPPING

  • You don’t need fancy cuts.
  • Get normal cuts! You don’t need organic, too.
  • Usually, cheaper cuts of meat also have more fat, which is good for this lifestyle.
  • Things with bones will usually be cheaper.
    • Bones are good for flavor, marrow, and to make broth later on.
  • Get a whole chicken!
  • Buy what you can afford that is physically available to you.
  • Dairy usually lasts around a week past its expiration date.
    • So do eggs!
  • For meat, eat it right away or just freeze it.
  • You can eat this way on a budget!

PROCESSED STEVIA

  • First, avoid processed foods generally.
  • Also, stevia is not good!
  • Stevia here is highly processed, as are these other crazy sweeteners.
  • NSNG® includes no sweeteners.
  • Get off of these and diet soft drinks.
