Episode 2081 – On this Friday show, Anna Vocino joins Vinnie again in a continuation of last week’s show to talk more NSNG® basics, including Ultra Fat nut butters, necessary macros, paradigm shifts, the 411 on various vegetables, starches, and flours, and more.

NECESSARY MACROS

  • We have a certain number of sugar in our bodies to maintain homeostasis.
  • This is about 1 tsp.
    • You do not need to eat more sugar to get this.
    • Your body can do it through gluconeogenesis — turning protein into sugar.
  • Your body only really needs two macros: fat and protein.
  • Brains prefer to run on fat! 
  • Plenty of people do ultra events without taking in any sugar.
    • Some will fast, and some will just eat fat.

NSNG® BASICS

  • This way of eating is cutting out sugars and grains (and things that your body treats as such, like starches).
  • It’s not cutting out everything like vegetables.
    • Some people do carnivore, but that’s not strictly what NSNG® is.
    • The best vegetables are broccoli, cauliflower, and Brussels sprouts.
  • Eat nuts in moderation — but raw nuts like almonds or cashews.
  • If you’re eating real food, you don’t need to count your macros.
  • Nothing happens overnight here — it’s a paradigm shift.
  • Avoid tapioca, cassava, etc., flours.
  • Look at the ingredients. You’ll be surprised by what you find in your ‘healthy’ foods.
  • Don’t rely too much on the store-bought stuff.
  • Just because it says ‘keto’ doesn’t mean it is low-carb of NSNG®.
