FALLOUT FROM A LIL

  • Vinnie starts the show by recalling his uncle and the great and strong person he was. (2:50)
  • This leads Vinnie to tell a story of his travels to Louisiana, the funeral, the family gathering afterward, and how a piece of fish kicked his ass.
    • It’s fallout from a LIL (“life into living” moment).
  • Vinnie also tells a different story, starting with a couple of Instagram posts he and Serena did together regarding more LIL. (19:00)
    • This leads to another story about a birthday dinner he and Serena had with friends and the fallout from that as well. (23:30)
    • Vinnie and Anna chat about perfection, and Vinnie reminds us of a Vince Lombardi quote, “Strive for perfection, you’ll land on excellence.(29:35)

A QUESTION ANSWERED

  • Anna asks Vinnie a question from Twitter that references a claim made that fruits and honey are ok for metabolically healthy people. (32:30)
    • Kind of odd that the comment was made in a reel by carnivore doctor, Paul Saladino.
    • Vinnie gives his thoughts on “plant defense chemicals” and whether or not your liver cares where carbs comes from. (36:00)
    • Vinnie respects Paul, but disagrees.
    • They agree it’s also a confusing message coming from a carnivore doctor.
  • Vinnie and Anna chat about things like sugar and alcohol addictions for many people. (43:50)
  • Vinnie mentions another podcast’s episode where the science behind the effects of alcohol on the brain works for different people. (44:00)
  • Anna brings up some preaching by a vegan and how the information is completely wrong; for example, the idea of high fat causing insulin resistance. (47:46)
  • They both agree that the best approach to influencing others in your life is to lead by example. (52:00)
