  • Vinnie welcomes Dr. Jason Fung back to the show and they chat about misconceptions about what fasting is. (2:00)
    • Dr. Fung explains what fasting is and how CICO (calories in, calories out) is an epic disaster.
    • Weight loss isn’t about calories, it’s about hormones like insulin and allowing your cells to work.
  • Vinnie asks Dr. Fung about thermodynamics and CICO. (9:00)
    • Thermodynamics has nothing to do with weight gain; it applies to physics, but not physiology.
    • If CICO worked, then all of the “diet businesses” (like Weight Watchers) would be out of business.
    • They explain that fasting affects hormones, which is why eating throughout the day is bad advice.
