- Did not play football in high school
- Picked it up half way through college — walked on to OSU team
- Played a lot of squash and loved to compete
RUGBY
- Gained skill set in Rugby
- His dad was part of the rugby community in Ohio
- He was the youngest player to make the national team
- Took it very seriously in high school and went to U19 World Cup
- Played U19s twice, and then U20s once
- Different type of tough than football
- Incredibly painful — can’t outrun it
HELICOPTER PARENTS
- Parents come to Vinnie asking him to train their kids to get athletic scholarships
- Kids pushed and overworked until they hurt themselves because of overbearing parents
- Important for kids to try all sports to see what they like and what they are good at
CHARACTER
- Very important to Nate
- His dad taught him great character, which he cherishes so much
- Worked over the summer, worked for all he achieved
