      • While Vinnie IS NOT A DOCTOR AND CANNOT GIVE MEDICAL ADVICE he thinks perhaps her friend should talk to another doctor?

GALLBLADDER ISSUES

    • Natural sugars still bad but not as bad

    • Mandy should make her friend listen to Gary Taubes’ interviews
      • Why You Get Fat and What To Do About It

MANDY’S PAIN AND BLOOD PRESSURE

DR. JACOBY

  • Author of Sugar Crush
    • talks about how sugar destroys your nerves
  • Worked with medical doctor and biochemist who worked with Watson and Crick
  • Jacoby gained an interest in genetics and amino acids
  • He works with nerves and diabetics and other doctors
  • Inspired by Gary Taubes and the effect of fat

WHAT DOES SUGAR DO?

  • High fructose corn syrup inflames the nerve
  • Nerve’s serovital gets broken down by sugar, and the nerve absorbs water and swells
  • These nerves swell and are compressed, causes pinched nerves and things like carpal tunnel
    • More and more surgery now that people eat more sugar
  • Stevia makes you want more sugar
  • Fruits is a seasonal item — ancients ate in spring to gain some fat

MEAT & EVOLUTION

  • Evolution allowed us to cook meat and break it down
  • Our ancestors, apes, walked on all fours to allow for longer intestines to break down all the leaves and such
  • Fire made our elementary canal shorter (formed waste, bipedals, etc)

ATHLETES

  • Exercise as a poor way to lose weight
  • Athletes have swollen calves and chubby stomachs because of all of that sugar they eat

AUTISM

  • Difference in kids with or without autism was the spacing of a nerve, developed between day 22 and day 24 of conception
  • Increase in Autism is likely due to the nerve compression of that one nerve, resulting from too much sugar intake in the embryo’s body
    • Pre conception !
      •  Parents had too much sugar before conception
  • Autistic kids have to use other parts of their brains

AMERICA’S FUTURE

  • Mom with breast cancer, child with autism, grandparent with Alzheimer’s
  • We will break under the weight of our own weight
    • Sugar will kill us
  • We are cutting our military to put money into healthcare
    • Healthcare is not about health
  • This is a pandemic

STARBUCKS

  • Starbucks makes their coffee bitter so people will want to put sugar in it
    • Sugar prices you can mark up even though it is cheap
  • People don’t go to Starbucks for the plain coffee
  • It is places like Starbucks that are contributing to the epidemic

      • Glucosamine, Chondroitin
  • Andy has been getting soreness in both of his hip joints after hiking
    • He wants to know about joint supplement formulas to potentially help his issue
  • Months of joint supplements can make a difference slowly but surely
    • Not when there is bone on bone (arthritis, no cartilage)
    • Give yourself awhile to start to notice effects
  • Grocery store supplements are good

  • Vinnie has always been making t-shirts
    • “Newman Polo Club”
    • “No Pain No Hypertrophy”

VINNIE AND FACEBOOK GROUP

  • Vinnie got in some hot water for a picture of a trainer he posted
  • This is due to the fact that Vinnie took a picture because he’s mad at the gym
    • Mad because the upstairs area (where Vinnie does rehab) is being used to train people who don’t know anything about fitness to be trainers
    • Vinnie has a front row seat to see how they’re being trained
      • These people know nothing about training which is frustrating
      • Some trainers overweight, but some are obese

GYM STORIES

  • Some people asked to cover up or leave gyms because they are in too good of shape
    • There must be more to this
  • Gyms are now about fat people, not fit people
  • There should be no weight shaming, one way or the other

VINNIE’S FANS & NEWMAN SCHOOL

  • One fan, who Vinnie actually trained in high school, is a super fan and thinks of Vinnie as a role model
    • Vinnie allowed him to start on defense his first time on a football field
  • Plyometrics episode coming in the future
  • This fan went to the same school as the Manning’s, who Vinnie also worked with
  • Coach Fred Rowe was sought after at Tulane
    • Vinnie got hired instead
  • Vinnie was being looked at by college teams, and cities alike

How to Start a Career in the Weight Loss Industry

by Vinnie Tortorich

Bugra Balaban joins Vinnie Tortorich on today’s Saturday edition of the Angriest Trainer podcast, asking him questions concerning becoming involved in the weight loss industry.

  • Villa Cappelli

BUGRA’S STORY

  • From Turkey, now residing in Arizona
  • 6’1, has lost around 150 lbs since starting NSNG
  • Only 26, pursuing his PhD

HOW CAN ONE START A CAREER IN THE WEIGHT LOSS BUSINESS?

  • Bugra wants to help other people lose weight
    • He has the degrees to do it
  • Vinnie thinks that this is a hard thing
  • If Bugra were to take classes to become a dietician, he would be taught to tell people that whole grains are good, etc.
  • If you are to get involved, start with something physiological to understand how the body works
  • Online dietician classes are not the move — those certificates are worthless
    • Get a real degree
  • This is not the business to make money in
    • Vinnie got lucky and worked incredibly hard
  • “You become an overnight success by spending 30 years in this business”
  • Vinnie suggests for Bugra to use his engineering degree to become an engineer and then get involved in this on the side
    • Come back to this later if you still feel compelled to do so
