Episode 2136 – On this Friday’s show, Vinnie Tortorich and fellow pro-trainer Fred Hahn chat about life experience as a trainer, the benefits of weight training, “the slow burn”, and health for kids, and more.

WEIGHT TRAINING

  • Vinnie welcomes pro-fitness trainer and author Fred Hahn to the show and they mention their shared connection to Billionaire Don Coddington. (2:00)
  • Vinnie and Fred exchange stories of their early interest in fitness and weight training. (4:18)
  • They also chat about a lot of early experiences and influences; as a result, they talk about certain weight lifters over the years using drugs, vs. using a natural approach. (6:35)
  • So many huge weightlifters are dying because of the substances they have been using. (13:30)
  • Fred’s approach to training his clients is to get the most effective strength-building workout in the shortest, most reasonable time. (16:15)
  • Vinnie asks Fred about the fitness and nutrition book that he wrote for kids, “Strong Kids, Healthy Kids” (2008); Fred explains his inspiration for the book–he got tired of leaders teaching the wrong thing. (23:12)
  • They continue discussing kids’ health, fitness, obesity, and what the best thing is to do to combat it. (29:15)
  • They chat about how several leaders in the country were trying to advocate for better health in schools, but then got diverted; both Vinnie and Fred suspect it has to do with Big Food interests. (32:15)
