DAN LYNCH
- Vinnie knows Dan through Don Coddington.
- The two have known each other since childhood.
- They were athletes together!
- Don was the perfect example of ‘you can’t outrun a bad diet.’
- He was the fittest obese guy Vinnie knew.
- One of the wakeup calls for Don, according to Dan, was going on a climbing trip and worrying he was going to be cut based upon his size.
FIGHTING SUGAR ADDICTION
- Dan knows how big a control sugar can have over us.
- Don showed Dan this lifestyle several years ago.
- He was raised in an era where because he was active, he could get away with whatever.
- There was no class on nutrition and fitness.
- Eventually, it caught up to Dan.
- He began to gain weight and his joints hurt.
- Dan still struggles to accept the fact that he has a sugar addiction.
SETTING RECORDS
- Dan has been on the show before.
- He fought non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma and then was out of commission because of Covid-19 for a year.
- He was in the hospital several times for coronavirus.
- Dan could not believe the effect the virus had on him.
- His recovery didn’t really begin until May or June of last year.
- At the start, he would spend only 10 minutes on his rowing machine.
- He still has permanent side effects, like scarring in the lungs.
- At 59, Dan did achieve the record of most consecutive rowing days.
- He did 1086 consecutive days of rowing prior to coming down with coronavirus.
- But, he’s now working once again to achieve his rowing records.
- Dan is a superb athlete!
- He’s at over 350 days now.
- Rowing is fabulous exercise and everyone can do it.
- It becomes addictive.
- You can do it for 10 minutes or 90, and you can do it every day (like Dan) or incorporate it with other things like Vinnie suggests.
