Welcome to the Saturday edition of the Angriest Trainer podcast with Vinnie Tortorich, where Vinnie answers listener questions.  Today the listener happens to be Vinnie’s very own Serena Scott Thomas, who talks about the societal pressure to eat grains and the ignorance of those who believe fat is worse than sugar.

WHY SERENA IS PISSED

  • Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf always asks if she wants a bagel or pastry
  • When asked not to ask anymore, the staff replied that it is company policy
  • Frustrating due to waste of time and also the fact that Serena is allergic to grains

HOW IT SHOULD BE

  • It should be like bartenders; “would you like something to drink?” instead of “would you like vodka with that?”
  • There should not be added temptation

KIND BARS

  • Government says “Kind” bars can no longer be labeled healthy; but for the wrong reason
  • Not due to excess amount of sugar which is why it truly should be unhealthy, due to the amount of saturated fat within the bar
  • Hydrogenated fat is also the issue within the bar
  • HuffPo makes it worse
