Avoiding A Slippery Slope

  • After a lesson in poetry and haiku, the topic of Summer vacation begins. (2:00)
  • People want to indulge on their summer vacations, mostly at theme parks and on cruise ships.
    • Vinnie had a lavish experience on a cruise once, but there was barely a gym! (11:00)
    • He made do with what he had to work with. He also gets seriously seasick.
    • The only thing to do on the cruise was gamble or overeat, neither of which he was interested in.
  • Lately, many of Vinnie’s consults have been centered around what a person, or family, eats on a cruise or at theme parks. (17:00)
    • Make up your mind before you leave on how you are going to handle the event. (18:30)
    • It’s the key to avoiding a slippery slope!
  • Anna gives a rundown of how you can approach the mindset. (20:00)
    • Ask yourself beforehand about the emotional reasons, mindsets, and triggers you may have.
    • Enjoy yourself, but be reasonable and plan.
  • Anna reads a question from listener Bob Z. (35:00)
    • Bob has a question about running with a weighted vest.
    • It is not recommended to run with weighted vests. The long-term effect on hips and knees is not good.
    • Rucking while walking is just fine, and it’s best to have the waist strap that goes with it.
