WHAT DRIVES SATIETY

  • Vinnie welcomes back Dr. Andreas Eenfeldt who is the Founder & CEO of dietdoctor.com.
    • Andreas was also in both of Vinnie’s “FAT” documentaries.
  • Vinnie and Andreas talk about the evolution of keto and debunking myths about it. (9:00)
    • They also discuss various challenges of veganism, and how both keto and veganism have a “religious” following.
    • Carnivore has a similar following; however, all these options can work but may be too much for many people to sustain.
    • They talk about the importance of protein in varying diets.
  • They turn the conversation to the topic of satiety (feeling full or satisfied). (21:00)
    • What contributes to satiety and what hinders feeling full?
    • Processed foods and even certain other food combinations can drive cravings and cause people to eat more.
    • The book “Salt Sugar Fat“, by Michael Moss is a good book that describes how food manufacturers formulate food for profits. (27:30)
    • NSNG® and low-carb approaches are great starters for retraining the brain and hormones to lessen cravings.

THE LURE  AND DOWNSIDE OF DRUGS

  • Vinnie and Dr. Eenfeldt discuss the downsides of drugs like Wegovy. (37:30)
    • Though some people may see a slight improvement, a person has to stay on the drug; otherwise, all the weight comes back.
    • There is evidence that such drugs also eat away at lean muscle mass.
    • It’s just way better to get your nutrients from real food and have your hormones respond with satiety.
    • Vinnie gives the comparison of eating the same number of ounces of steak vs. the same amount of chips; as a result, one will satisfy you, and one will keep you craving. (50:00)
