    • Read the article here. https://www.washingtonpost.com/wellness/2024/04/03/diet-culture-nutrition-influencers-general-mills-processed-food/
    • General Mills is trying to discourage what they label as “food shaming.”
    • This is because they want to keep selling their low-quality packaged foods, like cereals.

  • Vinnie introduced a lot of new information to a particular doctor, and she was troubled that what she had been teaching for so many years was incorrect. (14:00)
  • Lean muscle is important for maintaining health. (22:45)
  • Lobbyists are creating a new labeling of food shaming. (28:00)
    • Social media influencers are being paid off to use “anti-diet” messaging and push processed foods.
    • Millions of people die a year due to poor health and obesity.
  • Vinnie’s low-carb message is already being hi-jacked by Instagram now that he has started posting on that platform again. (30:00)
  • The messaging from Big Food is to try to push the blame away from the companies. (33:00)
    • Personal responsibility is important; one of the ways you can counter this push by General Mills is to not purchase their product.
    • Advocate for yourself and choose with your wallet!
