Episode 1779 – On this Monday show, Anna Vocino and Vinnie Tortorich talk building a podcast successfully, Vinnie’s new book idea, why health is not political, Facebook’s weird hate speech algorithm, mansplaining, and more. Plus, Jody Ross makes a guest appearance to discuss her COVID-19 battle, paying it forward, at-home exercises, and more.
BUILDING A PODCAST
- Do not expect to make money from your podcast.
- If you plan on making money in the first few years, you may be setting yourself up for failure.
- In fact, Vinnie lost money on this podcast the first few years, and Anna put in a lot of sweat equity.
- Don’t measure success with money.
- Do it because you love it, work hard, and maybe down the line it will be profitable.
HEALTH IS NOT POLITICAL
- Health isn’t political.
- You should not try to politicize eating well and the like.
- There isn’t a ‘right’ or a ‘left,’ only an ‘us’ trying to take control of our own health.
- Don’t treat health like politics –– don’t lose friends who don’t agree with you. Respect each other.
