Episode 2200 – On this Wednesday’s show, Vinnie Tortorich welcomes Scott King back as a guest and they discuss Scott’s athletic goals, ways to lift weights,  weight-lifting routines, and more.

WAYS TO LIFT WEIGHTS

  • Vinnie welcomes Scott back to the show and asks Scott to chat a little about his weight loss. (2:15)
    • Scott also mentions how he began to get active once he lost weight.
    • Now Scott has participated in triathlons!
  • Vinnie recalls the well-known NSNG® success story of Robert Stanton. (4:53)
    • Robert’s doctors basically told him to get his affairs in order because they didn’t know what else they could do for him.
  • Even though Scott has become very active, he hasn’t lifted weights since high school and is asking for advice on how to begin. (7:20)
    • Vinnie goes through an explanation of different ways to get an effective workout.
  • Vinnie advises starting slowly as the muscles, soft tissues, ligaments, bones, etc. need to “catch up” to this new work. (18:15)
  • Vinnie also advises to “only work the muscles you want to keep.” (20:35)
  • Vinnie and Scott discuss Scott’s goals, what kind of time he has, and Vinnie goes through his own workout. (23:50)
    • Vinnie discusses both upper body and leg day exercises.
    • Vinnie says you don’t have to do all of these exercises every time.
    • When Vinnie was active in Ultra racing, he would do Fred Hahn and Ben Bocchicchio’s approaches to building muscle. (43:00)
  • Scott finishes the show by asking Vinnie’s thoughts on the use of creatine. (44:40)
