NEUROECONOMICS

  • Dr. Angela has a Ph.D. in economics.
    • But her dissertation was on pure neuroscience.
  • She is a neuroeconomist.
  • This means she runs neuroscience experiments and actual clinical trials.
    • When she looks at the outcome, she looks through financial models.

FINANCIAL SUCCESS

  • Don’t focus too much on the books.
  • The market is what you make it.
    • It isn’t what people you it is.
  • Dr. Stanton focused on the market for a long time and did well doing so.
    • She says — who cares what other people buy? 
      • She’s an investor who buys from companies she would use the products of and companies she trusts.
        • Tesla was one of these.

PREVENTING MIGRAINES

  • Much of Dr. Stanton’s work focuses on migraines.
  • A migrainer has more neurons associated with sensory neurons.
    • This explains sensitivity to light, for example.
  • Reducing sodium is a problem because having a satisfactory sodium level is important for brain health; especially for those with migraines.
  • Additionally, glucose removes sodium from your cells when you eat glucose.
  • Notably, eating a high glucose diet creates friction that contributes to migraines.
  • If you take carbs out of your diet, you can see the effects if you suffer from migraines — assuming you get enough sodium.
  • Many feel that they feel ‘dried out when they eat carbs.’
  • Eating salt and taking electrolytes is very important, too.
