SLOWING DOWN

  • Often times, when discussing workout routines, Vinnie tells people to slow down.
  • Gina set a pushup goal.
    • Vinnie advised her to start small and take lots of time–more than you think you need–to build up.
  • If you’re hurting a lot after your workouts, you might need to slow down.
  • Generally, Vinnie says take what you’re doing, slow it down a bit, and then slow it down some more.
  • Start with walking if you need to!
  • And do fewer, higher weight reps on various machines.
    • When you do your reps, do them slower.
      • Really feel the exercise, make your muscles do the work.
  • If you push yourself too hard, you won’t enjoy the exercise, and then you’re more likely to fail or quit.
