INSULIN RESISTANCE AND CHRONIC DISEASE

  • His new book is a scientist’s attempt to bring perspective to chronic disease.

    • What is insulin resistance and do you get it?
    • Why does it matter?
    • And what’s it about?
  • 88% of adults in the US were found metabolically unfit in a study out of UNC.
  • Just because people are thin does not mean they are metabolically healthy.
  • Starting kids on healthy, not super sugary food is an incredibly important place to start.
    • Try to create some simple principles for your kid.
    • It can be hard because kids naturally want junk food and their friends will likely have it.
      • Just make sure they eat healthily while they’re around you, but don’t make food a punishment or reward or anything like that.
