Family Matters And A Cautionary Tale

  • Vinnie has some recent good news regarding his brother. (3:00)
    • His brother was diagnosed at a young age with Crohn’s disease.
    • He tells the story of how they found out his bother had Crohn’s.
    • His brother recently developed Stage 3 colorectal cancer in a short amount of time.
    • Vinnie shares some of the challenges his brother was going through—but now he has good news! (8:30)
  • During the pandemic, Vinnie proposed a challenge of the “NSNG® 15”; that is, gaining 15 pounds of muscle instead of fat. (12:20)
    • However, he still hears how it affected people’s eating habits and activity.
    • This leads to talking about some of the inconsistencies in the advice the public was given.
  • They turn back to the discussion of Vinnie’s brother and the importance of getting regular checkups.  (18:45)
  • Vinnie and Gina discuss mammograms and getting a colonoscopy.
  • Vinnie’s biggest influence was Vince Lombardi, who died at a young age because of colorectal cancer.
  • It’s a cautionary tale—get your checkups and stay on top of your health!
