CHILDHOOD OBESITY

  • The number of cases is rising worldwide and we don’t know what the next 20-30 years will hold
  • We are now seeing Type 2 Diabetes in young teens
  • We need to start changing the norm and replacing it with healthy eating
  • Sugar is used to pacify, amuse, reward and fundraise in schools

WHAT WORKS

  • Diets with fresh fruits and vegetables and  meals that involve cooking
  • Schools need to stop serving foods like chocolate milk
  • Chocolate milk is full of sugar and is like a liquid candy bar

  • No matter how you look at it…sugar is bad
  • Cheat days can translate into binges

HOSPITAL FOOD

  • It is terrifying that hospitals are giving fruits, juices and sugary desserts to Diabetics
  • These are just not healing foods
  • Part of these choices are based on fiscal situation
