In this episode

Vinnie Tortorich drove 23 hours to Austin to record with Jaspr founder Mike Feldstein at Jaspr House on Lake Austin. They talk about growing a company by giving instead of advertising, why the air inside the homes Mike tests is usually dirtier than the air outside, the year of dust Vinnie's Jaspr pulled out of his home gym, and an early Black Friday deal for listeners.

Key takeaways

  1. Mike calls Jaspr an air education company that happens to make the world's best air scrubber. Instead of buying ads, Jaspr gifts units to schools and jiu-jitsu gyms, hosts events, and lets the people it helps spread the word.

  2. The air Mike's team tests in an average home is five to 10 times dirtier than the air outside. Homes built tight for energy efficiency trap smoke, mold, allergens and chemicals, so the air sits like a stagnant pond.

  3. After a year of running a Jaspr in his home gym, Vinnie opened his Concept2 rower, which usually collects a sixteenth of an inch of dust a year, and found it almost perfectly clean. The dust was in the Jaspr's filter.

  4. Jaspr's first 1,000 customers were doctors and dentists during COVID. Ontario dentists needed an air purifier in every room, and a small store-bought unit meant about 45 minutes between patients, compared with about eight for a Jaspr.

  5. Mike puts air, water, food and sunlight first, with supplements building on that foundation. He points out that health intake forms rarely ask about the air you breathe or how you sleep.

  6. Code VINNIE takes $350 off a Jaspr at jaspr.co through the end of November, $50 more than Jaspr's own Black Friday deal. After November, the code still takes $200 off.

About the guest

Mike Feldstein

Founder of Jaspr, the Austin company that makes the Jaspr air scrubber. Before launching Jaspr in May 2020, Mike worked in wildfire smoke, hurricane cleanup and mold remediation, where the cleanest air he ever tested was in homes right after a mold job. This is his third time on the show.

From Vinnie

Why Would I Drive 23 Hours for a Podcast?

Because I wanted to see it for myself. In the 14 or so years of this show, I've recorded away from my own studio exactly twice, and this is the second time. I first had Mike Feldstein on right after the California fires, when Leona, who works for the show, was trying to get the smoke smell out of the only house left standing on her block. Mike has been on three times now. This time I drove two days to sit down with him at Jaspr House on Lake Austin, where his team gathers, hosts partners and events, and gets together every Friday. There's a 20-person sauna, a cold plunge, and an assault bike out by the water. I felt right at home.

Can a Company Grow by Giving Things Away?

Mike thinks so, and he's proving it. One of his team members, Darren, applied for a customer support job, but his real dream is jiu-jitsu. Most bosses would tell a guy like that to chase his dream on his own time. Mike built Darren's schedule around his fighter class instead. Now Darren trains, handles customer support, and gifts Jasprs to local jiu-jitsu gyms. That turned into a jiu-jitsu invitational right on the property: eight teams of four, a $20,000 cash prize, and Jocko Willink's team flying in from San Diego.

Jaspr does the same thing with schools. They gift the units, cover the filters, and let the teachers and parents do the talking. Some brands spend $50,000 to $100,000 a day on ads. Mike would rather put that money into helping people. It reminded me of Paul Newman, who once took off his Rolex and handed it to a kid who'd spent the summer helping him build a treehouse.

"We just do impactful things in the community, and the people are the marketing."

Is the Air in Your Home Dirtier Than the Air Outside?

According to Mike, usually yes. When his team tests the air in an average home, it's five to 10 times dirtier than the air outside. We filter our water without thinking twice, but nobody treats the air. Since the '70s, homes have been built tight for energy efficiency, so smoke, mold, allergens, dust and chemicals come in and get trapped. Mike compares it to a stagnant pond. His background is wildfire smoke, hurricane cleanup and mold remediation, and the cleanest air he ever tested was in homes right after a mold job, because the air had been scrubbed. Serena and I saw this firsthand when we moved to Virginia. We refused to buy any of those newly built homes that smell like formaldehyde, and we fixed up a house built in the early '60s instead.

Does an Air Scrubber Really Make a Difference?

I was the biggest skeptic in the room. I had a little air purifier under my desk, and I wasn't about to spend a thousand bucks on another one. Mike sent me a Jaspr anyway, without asking for a thing. I put it in my home gym and ran it every day while I worked. Once a year I take the cover off my Concept2 rower to clean the dust off the impellers, and after a year it's usually a sixteenth of an inch thick. This time it was almost perfectly clean, and I had rowed my usual 1.2 million meters. Then I opened the Jaspr. All my dust was in the filter.

Now it runs 24 hours a day, which Mike says costs pennies. The second Jaspr went in our bedroom, and Serena snores a lot less. We had construction going on upstairs, and there's still no dust in the house.

How Do You Get the Listener Deal on Jaspr?

Go to jaspr.co (there's no "e" in Jaspr) and use promo code VINNIE at checkout. Through the end of November it takes $350 off, which is $50 more than Jaspr's own Black Friday deal. After November, the code still gets you $200 off. If your Jaspr ever breaks, they ship you a brand new one. If it isn't a game changer for you, they'll buy it back at full price and pay for the return shipping. Jaspr's filters are also switching to coconut carbon, which Mike says removes odors, formaldehyde and VOCs better, at the same price. And if you already have a Jaspr story, send it to the Jaspr team. The first 10 listeners who do get a free filter.

Tap a time to play from there

I am Vinnie Tortorich. Folks, your good intentions have been stolen, but don't worry. I'm here to help you get them back. You may be soft and succulent when you start this process, but hang in there. Before long, you will be lean and mean, guaranteed. It's the Friday show. You know what that means? We come in every Friday. Either we do now a call-in show which seems to be very popular but nothing is more popular than when we bring the luminaries on the guest and that's exactly what we're doing today. If it looks a little different on YouTube it's because I'm not in my studio and if it sounds a little different if you're listening to this only on audio it's also because well I'm not in my studio. As a matter of fact, I was thinking just a few minutes ago, this is only the second time in the history of this show where I've not been in my own studio. The only other time was an actor in England named Bert Portal, who I met obviously through the Scott Thomas family because they're a bunch of actors. Bert I met about eight months before he decided to row across the Atlantic. And when I met Bert, I said, "I don't believe you're going to do this because we shook hands and you don't have one callous." And he hadn't even started practicing yet. But he pulled it together and on a twoman rowing team rode across the Atlantic. And when I was over in England, I had to get an interview from him. You would have to go back at least 2500 videos or you know you or podcast just to get to that. But that was the only other time I was out of the studio. But today it's well worth it because I'm in Austin, Texas.

I don't just happen to be here. I drove in. I wanted to come here. I wanted to see this in person because it means something to me. And you guys need to know the story. You may remember I brought a guy Mike Feldstein on the show. Oh, maybe a year and a half, two years ago. It was right after the California fires, the ones that took out the two different neighborhoods. And our very own Leona, who works for the show, was having all, you know, her house was the only house on the block that was still standing in that fire. And I wanted to learn, you know, she wanted to get the smell out of her house. She was trying and I was looking around. I heard about this guy Mike Feldstein and this company Jaspr and I wanted to just know more about it. And that's the first time I heard about the product that Jaspr made. So, please welcome back for the third time now, Mike Feldstein. How you doing, brother?

Yo, man. Thanks for making the drive. This is way better. Yeah, I love being here. You know, whenever it was it was brought up, hey, go out to Austin, I'm like, why would I go there? Why do I need to go there? But I do remember in our last podcast that you were sitting probably right where I'm sitting now because I was watching boats go back and forth behind you on the Austin. I call it the river, but you guys call it the Austin Lake.

They call it Lake Austin. In Texas they call rivers lakes. Okay. Well, Texas has figured out everything backwards. I'm not I'm not going to even try to get into that. But, you know, that's when I first wanted to come here, but all of a sudden it was mentioned. It's like, hey, you need to go to the Jaspr house. And I'm like, you mean the house of Jaspr? What? What is this like Chanel? What's going on? But here I am in the Jaspr house. Describe where we are, Mike. Where are we? We're in Austin, Texas on Lake Austin. This is indeed called Jaspr House. We've been here for about a year and a half. This started as a place where the whole team was working. And then I was sad to go home each day because this place is so beautiful. And then I decided to move my family in here. So my family lived downstairs and the team worked upstairs. And then once my baby Atlas was born, having a baby in the home and the team, it was no longer going to work. So I had to decide, should we keep the team here? We should keep the family here. Decided to keep the family here. Team, we rented another place up the street. But then within a couple months, I realized this place was like, this is like a summer camp. It's way too big for a small family. So it's become this amazing place where we can host partners, we can host events. You know, every week on Friday, we have probably 30 people between 15 and 30 people here for we have a 20 person sauna over there. So big saunas, we cook everybody burgers, people swim in the lake, go boating and stuff. And like what's the whole point of having a business and having a community if you don't have fun cool places to host together? So, we've done some really cool deals this year with Chris Williamson and Alex Clark and like now we're here. So, to do podcasts in person and to be able to just go to like, you know, most podcasts that I would go to, they were either virtual or they're in these little office buildings with studios that seem like a chiropractic office or in a warehouse.

And I'm like I was shocked every time. The air quality was really poor. The lighting was bad. It was like they it felt like acting. It's like they created this little scene in a warehouse. So from the cameras, it looks like you're in this beautiful living room and I'm looking out at this cold warehouse and this doesn't make sense. I'm like, why aren't we doing this in an actual warm, comfortable home? So this is just a place for the team. It's not our office, but the team is welcome to come here after work, come in the mornings, do yoga, invite partners, just like a place for people to relax and chill and do things like this. And it's working. It reminds me of a many version of when I was in Los Angeles, a lot of the big studios started doing this sort of thing where and I thought it was crazy at first, but you know, they would have bowling alleys and pingpong and you know, video games and all of this stuff. And my thing was, well, does anyone work around here? And the whole idea was people work harder when they can take a break and do different things. And you brought it up before I could, but you know when I drove in here last night. I'm staying here at the Jaspr House or Jaspr House, not the Jaspr House.

That sounds funny. I like the 'the'. And I couldn't really see what was outside and everything. And I wake up this morning, it's like, oh, oh, that's funny. There's water back here. And oh, there's a sauna. The first thing I did was I belelined it out to that sauna because I want to build a sauna in my backyard. So, I wanted to see what you had there. You know, I opened it. I walked in it. I was like, "Well, this is way bigger than I need." And then I saw the cold plunge out on the thing. And you have a lot of things that I have in my gym in my home. You know, you have the Rogue, you know,

Assault bike, I think. Air the assault bike. The air dying right there on your right by the water. And I'm like, "Oh, this is so much cooler than the way I do it." He's out here on the dock doing his assault bike, right? It's like a playground for people like me. And then you said something. We were sitting out on the dock and we were enjoying the sun. It's nice and cool today. And then you said something. He was like, "Oh yeah, jiu-jitsu. We had a big thing here last week." And I'm like, "Okay, what's a big thing? I don't know what he's talking about." And you're like, "Yeah, look." And you showed me this video. You had a big giant thing right here on the property. Explain what that was. You had a whole setup here.

Yeah. So, it was right over back there. We had a 80 by 40 tent. So, there was four normally jiu-jitsu is just a one-on-one sport, but we did a special format. So, there was it was teams of four, eight teams. So, 32 competitors from all over the country. 16 guys were here local. 16 of them flew in. And so this happened because one of the guys on our team, his name is Darren. And he applied for a customer support position a little over a year ago, but I checked out his Instagram and his resume and it was all about jiu-jitsu. You can't be a highle athlete like that if you don't have a great work ethic,

Right? And he said, "Look, I'm trying to move to Austin. The best gyms in the world are in Austin. I'm looking to move from Jersey to Austin and pursue my dreams of becoming a world champion." His reference was a UFC fighter named Derek Brunson. And I'm like, "Wait, this is interesting." And I said, we he was going to take a job being an Amazon driver, driving night shifts and grinding and finding little bits of time to train in between. I said, "Why don't we do this a little differently? When is the fighter class?" And he said, "It's either at 9:00 a.m. Or noon every day." So, I was like, "Okay, how about this? How about you commit to doing that fighter class every day and then you can do your customer support after you train, but let's support him in that. So, it kind of became a hybrid of a sponsored athlete and a customer support rep. So, you know, he goes on local deliveries and he does customer support, but he trains jiu-jitsu and Austin has an incredibly vi vibrant jiu-jitsu scene. And jiu-jitsu seems to be the sport where a lot of entrepreneurs and a lot of athletes are doing cuz you don't it's like cute chess for the human body. You don't get punched and kicked in the face. So, there's a lot more longevity to that sport. So, his job is train jiu-jitsu, do customer support, and then gift Jasprs to local jiu-jitsu gim gyms.

Gift it. Gift it. Wow. Well, if you go and put four or five, 10 Jasprs in a jiu-jitsu gym. Every as soon as you do that, instantly everybody walks in, they're like, "Whoa." The change rooms don't stink. The guys feel fresher. They recover better. And then the kids are there and the athletes are there and the entrepreneurs are there like, "What are these Jasprs?" So people start asking and some people buy them for their home. So I was interested in I'm interested in jiu-jitsu and we like to give Jasprs to schools and jiu-jitsu became another avenue that we wanted to support. So Darren hosted an event. I said, "Darren, what do you think about us? What if we gave a 20 and he's going on these tournaments every week,

Right? And often it's like 200 bucks if you win, 500 bucks." and he's telling me about these huge tournaments where the cash prize is like 20 grand, huge. I'm like, "What if we offered a $20,000 cash prize and we hosted an event here?" He's like, "That would be the coolest thing ever, right?" So, it took four or five months to put together and then we flew all the guys in and then we rented like a 20 person Airbnb, so they all slept there the night before

And then we hired a videographer to sleep at the house with them. It was like the ultimate fighter where a lot of these guys knew they were competing the next day so there was a lot of tension in the home and it's fun to create real life drama and then you know when you're an adult you don't have that many opportunities to compete anymore so it's really cool for these guys to have a chance to win money and actually compete. So what you saw there we hired a company to come in and do a whole live stream. Almost a thousand people watched that live stream. It peaked at about a,000 people. Over 600 people watch the whole thing and it was over a six-hour event. But what was neat is, you know, just having people who are just general population, not into jiu-jitsu, see it in that entertaining way. And to me, a company, it's like if a business and a company is done right, it's an opportunity for adults. Like when you're a kid, you're in school, they assign you the projects and they give you grades. Yeah. When you're an adult, you can create your own projects and you can give people dollars instead of grades. But that doesn't have to end. So for me, whether it's our internal team or external stuff, anytime you can motivate people and have humans competing at a high level, whether it's for a race or something climbing or swimming or jiu-jitsu, we realize Jaspr is really an air education company who happens to make the world's best air scrubber. And then attention is attention. So whether we're building a school or creating content or doing podcasts or sponsoring jiu-jitsu events or anything like that, it always what is Jaspr? Who is Jaspr? What are they doing? Oh, it's this air scrubber.

People check it out. 2% of people who check it out are like, hm, I'd love to try one. Yeah, I'd like to buy one. Then they buy it. And because Jaspr works so good, they tell all their friends. So we don't do traditional advertising and commercials and marketing. We just do impactful things in the community. And the people are the marketing. Speaking of impact, you said something right at the beginning of this that just really stuck with me. You had this guy, he has a dream of being a great jiu-jitsu guy. And when you think about the good old days when I was coming up as an athlete and even if you watch like the original Rocky movie, right, he was trying to figure out how to make a few bucks so he could stay in the gym. You had a guy that came to you and said, "Hey, I just need to make and you said,"Hey, I'll let you train and work your schedule around that." It used to be where the boss man would go, "I don't care about this crap dream you have. You do that on the side. You do this first." You know, this is the opposite of what I think most bosses even today would do. Would you agree?

I do. And it's really sad like the amount of brands that you see, you find out that they're spending 50 or $100,000 a day on Facebook ads. Yeah. And then Facebook gets really good at figuring that out and they're not even too profitable. I'm like, you know, you're talking like a million, $2 million a month. I'm like, do you know how many people you could help for a million dollars a month? Yeah. And then if you do that and you have a good product, you don't have to create these ads. So to me, if you can support people's dreams, like what's the point of the business, right?

Is it to make money for what? Should be to help people and to do cool, fun, interesting things. So don't it's actually you have people have it really backwards by inspiring him to do his dream. When he's out in the world, he's telling people about that. So that is, you know, lifting up the word of mouth and giving Jaspr a name. Has the kind of company that does this sort of thing. We host all kinds of events here. So yeah, just instead of doing traditional normal advertising, you know, like I'm thinking LA styles. You get a giant warehouse, you hire some actors, you pretend that there was this amazing before and after. Then you pay media companies or billboards to hijack people's attention to get them excited about this outcome,

But that's like the least creative way to do advertising. For example, Jaspr is really effective for mold. Something we I've been thinking about doing is what if we hired two or three mold inspectors and we offered free mold testing all around the city, but we got to film it. So, hey guys, we'll come to your home. We'll test your house for free for mold. We'll inspect your attic. We'll look around. The catch is we're going to film it because we want to educate people and share that content. And when you do that, people it's way more authentic. It's way more organic and it far outpaces traditional marketing and advertising. So, it is backwards, but like don't get it twisted. I'm also very much an entrepreneur and I also do like growing businesses. I just find that the best way to grow a business is by doing kind things and you know it's a health podcast and what's the point of like to me you don't really find that many people who are struggling with their health if they're having tons of fun. If they have great community and they're fun and they're outside they're not usually having everything's just working right. So if we just make the company and this is not about having the just, you know, just games and toys and pizza parties, it's healthy food, community events and things of that nature that attract a certain kind of people that want to work here. And then if you're doing that, the most talented people want to come here, they're feeling better. There's and when the bosses, nobody wants to work for that company.

Turnover is high. You have HR departments and all that kind of stuff. So we just run Jaspr. If you just build the business and build the world that you want to live in and then the result results take care of themselves. Yeah, I was telling you, you know, you know, over at my company, Pure Vitamin Club, Pure Coffee Club, we do the same sort of thing. Drinking problem, Mike, he just spilled water on himself. So, yeah, we do the same thing where, you know, the people come in and go, you could do this and you could do that. And the other thing when I'm hearing you, it you it's like you're a small company compared to say Patagonia. Yeah.

But we know what Patagonia ended up doing, right? And of course Northface, you know, they were buddies, those guys, and we know that they gave everything back to the community, you know? So, and we're on that we're on that path. It's like you're doing that from the from the get-go. You didn't have to become a multi-bazillion dollar company to do that. You said, "Hey, let's be Patagonia on day one." Basically,

Yeah. It's wild. Think about it. If we go and go to a school, we gift them 15 Jasprs, right? You know that instead of trying to go into a school and sell them the product, we gift it and we provide their filters for free. But now we have an opportunity to educate the teachers. And then what does the school do? They email all the parents and say, "We now have clean air classrooms." Right? They did a study in Finland 3 years ago where they put air purifiers in 50% of classrooms and absentee rates dropped by almost 30%. Are you kidding? In students and teachers.

Wow. So, we're like, wait, if and it's like with anything, if the product doesn't work giving it away, you're going to go broke fast, right? But if your product's really good, you can't afford not to give it away cuz marketing, you're trying to convince people to buy things. When you go to a school, you give them 15 Jasprs, they tell all the parents, if the parents are like, "Hey, my kid's not having allergies anymore. My kids's not having asthma attacks as much. My kids's coming home, they're not getting that rash on their skin anymore. Hey, my kids's not coming home with a stuffy nose anymore. Maybe I should get a few of these for the home,

Right? Next thing you know, that 15 in the school now 100 parents have them." We don't even track it. We don't really push it. It's like once you start tracking giving, it's coming from the wrong place. It's not giving anymore. It's transactional giving, but it's just like what a great blessing to learn that if you have something that works, you want to give it away to the people who need it most. So, if someone's suffering from mold, if there's wildfire smoke, if there's really bad seasonal allergies and you can make that problem go away for someone, they're going to become your biggest advocate, right?

So, yeah, I'm grateful that we've stumbled onto this early in the business, and now we can just keep doing more of that. You remind me a little bit of God, what's his name? Paul Newman. He gave he gave a Rolex Daytona away to his daughter's boyfriend one summer. And that watch went on to sell at auction a few years ago for like $14 million or some crazy amount.

But at the time when he gave him the watch, basically the kid helped him build a treehouse that summer. M and at the end of the summer he said to the guy, "Hey, what time is it?" He goes, "I don't know, Mr. Newman. I don't have a watch." And Paul Newman took off the Rolex and handed it to him and said, "Now you do." And someone asked him later, "You just gave this kid a Rolex." And Paul Newman said, "You know, if you own something and you can't give it away, you don't own it, it owns you."

Right. That's true. And I've, you know, I've always taken that to heart. If you have something that's you think is precious other than your you say your wife and your kids, your family, anything else, if you can't give that inadimate object away, you don't own it. It now owns you. And I've always tried to take that lesson. I want to go back to jiu-jitsu because I want to talk about Jaspr. Yeah. I want to go back to jiu-jitsu for just a moment.

Okay. We're in Austin. Probably the biggest celebrity in Austin, the world knows, Joe Rogan. He lives somewhere in Austin. He does. Was he at your jiu-jitsu event? Did he come in? Do we know? He did not come, but I'm sure he knew about it. Really? It was that big. Well, the jiu-jitsu community is a small community. Yeah. So, actually, there was a photo on Instagram yesterday of a guy wearing the Jaspr Jiu-Jitsu Invitational shirt.

Yeah. At dinner with Georges St-Pierre. Yeah. One of the all-time greats in the UFC, and a guy named John Danaher, who's an all-time great jiu-jitsu teacher. Both of these guys have probably been on Rogan's pod. Yeah. So, because with the jiu-jitsu world, you're two degrees of separation. You know, Lex Fridman and Jocko and all these guys are big jiu-jitsu guys. Jocko Willink, his team flew in from San Diego to compete here. Really? Victory Ultra. Wow. So,

Wow. So, that was that's pretty big. It is pretty big. Yeah. So, you know, word gets around when you do cool, fun, interesting things. Are we going to turn this into the Jaspr Invitational? Are we talking next year? What? What are we? Funny you ask. So, a bunch of the guys, they didn't know, the athletes didn't even know Jaspr before. They thought the Instagram post and the interview, some of these people were like, "This was the most professional jiu-jitsu production." I'm like, "Guys, we're not even a jiu-jitsu company, right? Because the if you saw the live stream, these were like the real deal. A lot of them are just using

Jiu-jitsu live stream guys that are kind of walking around with webcams. So, I'm like, we're not using the jiu-jitsu guys. Let's get like excellent people here who can cuz these guys just we just wanted to elevate the sport for them. And if you saw the guys walking around the property and it wasn't just the 20,000 for the top winner, we had probably another 15,000 in prizes for fastest submission and most entertaining match and all these other things. So it cost them no money to compete. Then they got to win money for all these different things

And they felt, you know, organic burgers on the property and we had a coffee vendor here with or clean coffee. Wow. Jasper Coffee. Shout out to Jasper Coffee and Austin who are also jiu-jitsu competitors. So it was just really amazing seeing the kids, the athletes feel that taken care of and supportive. And you know, one someone new on my team, finance kind of background guy, but he was just like, you know, how do this like how do we ensure that this was like a profitable event or whatever, right?

I'm like, did you see how happy and touched all these people were? That's the prophet. That's the prophet right there. That's the prophet. And you know, a lot of times people miss that part of it. Before we go on folks, I got to tell you about our sponsor, Villa Cappelli Olive Oil, the longest running sponsor of this show, Villa Cappelli. I was talking about this company long before they paid me a dollar. And then when Paul Cappelli figured out that they were selling out in the United States, we got a phone call and he said, "Please mention me every week." So I have a contract that says I have to mention Villa Cappelli, but hey, I use this stuff at home. This is my stuff. People always go, "What's your olive oil? Tell me another olive." Why go look for another olive oil? Vilica is right there. And you save 10% by putting in promo code VINNIE. V I N I E. Promo code VINNIE. V I N I E. You'll save that every single time. Villa Cappelli olive oil. Let them know we sent you. We're talking to Mike Feldstein. Mike, I want to get into Jaspr because

Wait one second. Yeah. How long have you been working with this brand? Almost from So, this podcast is maybe 14 or 15 years old. So, about a year after we started. And then how long is the second longest brand? Well, we had a beef company that ended up screwing up. That one probably went a year and a half, two years. So, Villa Cappelli is like the OG by far.

Oh, yeah. That's really cool. I love how you do I love how you just like organically talk about it right on the show. Yeah, that's awesome. Yeah, I do all my ads that way because I only talk about things that I use. And again, you know, that's why I don't want to turn this into an infomercial. Well, I'm asking. But I'm here because of this crazy belief. Yeah. You drove like 11 hours or something.

Well, 11 hours two days in a row. So, 20 24 23 hours to get here. And people said, "Why don't you fly?" It's I wanted to drive. It's the fall. I wanted to see the leaves change. I got in my car and I drove. And okay, I have two of your Jasprs in my house. Now, most of my audience knows about the Jaspr because we pushed it last year for maybe four or five months, you know, and

We sold a ton of Jasprs from what I can tell. And at the at the beginning I had one in my house. And then one day I walked out to my front stoop and it was a big giant box. It was another Jaspr. You just sent me a Jaspr. I was like, "Oh my god, this guy's awesome." And so now then we had two in the house and it was because I told you that my wife snores a little bit, more than a little bit. You said, "Put this in your bedroom." I was like, "Mike is come on. This isn't but it works. She snores like maybe 80% less. It's like a light snore and then it stops. It's not like she's not pulling the ceiling tiles off anymore with the snore. So, it worked. Now, the original story I told everyone about the Jaspr. The first time I had you on the show, we were talking about fire remediation, smoke remediation. That's all I cared about.

Yeah. You started hemming and hawing about this Jaspr and I was like, "Okay, I have an air purifier under the desk. You know, I change out the little carbon thing every few months." This thing shows up. The first thing I noticed was the size because you kept calling it an air scrubber and I was like, "Okay, it's an air it's scrubbing the air." Okay. I noticed the size and then I noticed the heft. It wasn't a light piece of equipment. It was a substantial piece of equipment. My wife was like, "What's this thing?" I was like, "I don't know, honey. I'll put it down in my office." I put it down there. I did not run it 24 hours a day. I ran it from around 8:00 in the morning until about 11 at night because that's when I'm down in my office working. I'm in and out. I would just leave it running every day. On my way out, before I hit the light switch, I would turn the Jaspr off. Okay. As the story goes, I have a complete gym in my office and in that gym I have a Concept2 rowing machine.

So once a year, I take the cover off of the Concept2 and you have all of these impellers. So folks, think about it. Like when you look at the engine on a jet plane when you're getting on, it's a bunch of impellers and it gets jammed up with dust and debris and everything that it collects out of the air. And if you want your thing to operate correctly, you take some alcohol and you go through and you wipe off that 16th of an inch. It's about that thick after about a year. And I do about a million meters a year on the rowing machine. So it builds up. Well, it had been a year. I pull the cover off and the thing is almost perfectly clean. It's virtually perfectly clean. And I thought about it. I was like, am I rowing less? I literally went to Concept2 to look in the thing and I had rode 1.2 million meters. The same I row every year. So, I just put the cover back on and went, "Okay, but I guess there's no dust in this room anymore. There's no debris flying around." I thought about it for a day or two. And I was going to bed one night. I'm turning the Jaspr off and I was like, "Wait a minute, hang on." I take the cover off. I found all of my dust. It was in that big giant filter. And folks, these are not lightweight filters. These are big giant filters in this thing.

And I was like, "This can't be. This just can't be." I called Liz, who works with you. I tell Liz the story. I said, "I need to get Mike back on the show. I really think this thing works." So, I gave you a call back and I said, "I told you the story, so you know the story. You have to listen to it again." But I could listen to it all day.

But I said, "Mike, is this possible?" He goes, "No, that's exactly what happened." And a couple of days later, a new filter showed up and I didn't have to buy it. It's like, "Thank you, Mike." I put the new filter in, the machine just And you told me when we did the second podcast, don't turn it off at night. It only burns about $85 worth of energy a year or less. Is it less than that? It's pennies a day. It's pennies a day. I now leave it on 24 hours. You sent the second machine. You told me about my wife in the room. My wife says there's no way we're putting it on level four. You could just leave it on automatic level one, which is what we do. It took us about a week to figure out that you could turn the light off at night. We didn't know about that because why no? And then she was like, "Can I literally I took a coaster and put it over the thing to hide the light." And then one day she goes, "Oh, look honey. You can just press this and the light goes out and you can sleep." We've been using that machine. Then we started doing construction upstairs. The machine is collecting all of that dust. We have no dust. We have nothing because of this Jaspr. To the point where I said to Serena, I said, "I wonder what it would be like to have more Jasprs in the house." And she goes, "I don't know." And then I walked into Jaspr House. There's one, two, folks. I'm not kidding. I'm counting from where I'm sitting. One, two, three, four. I can see four. Okay, Mike is pointing to a fifth. There's five. But this is a giant room. These are 15t ceilings. It's a giant open space.

But the entire house, every room I've walked into has a Jaspr. I've never been in a house that smells and feels so nice ever in my life. Jaspr house. It's the Jaspr house, literally. So, I'm thinking I'm thinking I'm going have to get a couple more, you know, because I noticed when people started buying them on my site, I don't know if you noticed this, but we would notice that they would buy one and then they would come back and buy like anywhere from two or three more. We had one guy that bought six. And I thought that was insane. But I'm sitting in the presence of five of them right here. First question, I guess. Do you need this many or is it just because hey, I own the company so I can just put them everywhere.

So do you need this many? No, you don't need them. This is a large space that has a lot of people coming through it and we're cooking and all of that. And how can you be Jaspr House and not have the cleanest air? That wouldn't make any sense, right? By the way, we're definitely going to be sending you two more because every time we send you a Jaspr, every time we send you a Jaspr, you discover and have an amazing story.

Yeah. So, we have snoring, we have the rower, we have construction dust. Sounds like we need to put one in your living room for cooking. Yeah, for sure. Absolutely. And you know, to me, this is like this is why I've been doing Jaspr now full-time for 10 years. Is we've been in business for seven, but it took me 3 years to get the company launched. And I don't do anything else. I don't have a side hustle. I don't have a side business. We don't make secondary products. We just do this one thing over and over and over because our work is so far from done. You know, once upon a time, and I say this because our first thousand customers were doctors and dentists during co

Really. We launched in May of 2020. Our first thousand customers were doctors and dentists because they mandated that every dentist in Ontario had to put an air purifier in every room to open up for business based on the airflow that the machine would move was how many minutes between patients. So if you had a little small air purifier, you were 45 minutes between patients. If you had a Jaspr, you were eight minutes between patients. So for the dentist, they couldn't afford not to have it.

Wait, go back. I don't want people to miss that. Okay. 45 minutes for the little G. If you had like a little Home Depot, Amazon, Walmart two $300 air purifier, they don't move. And it was all based upon how much air is being cleaned based on the size of the room. So an operator, that's the room that the dentist is cleaning your teeth in, right? So you could buy another big machine that would also be 8 minutes or less, but they were loud, large industrial machines. So, right, just to remind you guys, my background was wildfire smoke, hurricane cleanup, and mold cleanup. So, when I would go to a home to remediate the mold, we would isolate the room that has the mold. We would, you know, rem physically remove the drywall, remove the insulation, wipe everything down with antimicrobial, hepoaces, and you have to scrub the air both in that room and throughout the home. We would test the air before, during, and after the remediation to make sure we did our job. And the cleanest air I would ever test would be after the mold jobs. So, I'd go back to the customer's home to pick up our gear. And like, the air in here is amazing cuz it was being scrubbed. Also, going back to dentists, 30 or so years ago, dentists weren't even wearing masks and gloves. Now, that sounds crazy. You know, growing up, you would just, for me, even we were drinking from the hose. We weren't thinking twice.

Absolutely. Then you're like, kind of tastes like plastic. And now you even still like now it's very uncommon for you to go to a restaurant or someone's home and them to just give you an old cup of tap water, right? It you taste the chlorine, you taste the metals. So we've learned as a society, we got to filter the water. And the city does their best job. You know, they're taking water that will make you sick. They fill it with chemicals because that's the only way to disinfect water on mass. Then you pump it in your house and you filter your own water or you buy filtered water. Air, there's no city process. So the air that's being polluted, wildfire smoke, allergens, mold, skin cells, debris, rubber from tires, glyphosate on the yards, all the chemicals and toxins in the world, the allergens, they come in your home and they get trapped there. So to me, I'm not surp like Yeah, of course people are sleeping better because if you're not filtering your air, the average air that we test in a home is five to 10 times dirtier than the outdoor air.

Yeah. When you start filtering your air becomes 5 to 10 or 20 times cleaner than the outdoor air. So you fully flip that from your home being this infested breeding ground that's making you sick. And since the 70s, homes have become built very tight for energy efficiency. But the tighter you build the home, your home can't breathe. So if your home can't breathe, the people inside the home can't breathe. If you think about streams, you're on a mountain, you got that running creek, flowing stream of water, that's typically fairly clean,

Right? River, it's pretty clean. But then when it stagnates and you have like a pond or a divot and the water's stagnant and not moving, the water gets heavily contaminated. If your pool pump turns off, the water turns green and gross and filled with algae in days. So your home is not flowing and being filtered. It's kind of like a pond. And by the way, our logo is a tree. Yeah.

Because we should not need these air filters if we don't build our homes so cheap and we don't pollute so much. Nature has great air. It's the fact that the way our homes have been built with these cheap materials that are on offging and not breathing and people cook inside and they clean inside and they wear their shoes inside and cologne and perfume and cleaning products that your home becomes this little Tupperware box with all these contaminants. So when you can scrub that out, you're breathing pure clean air. So Jaspr doesn't add anything to the air. It's only removing things out. So you're getting air as it was intended. And hopefully this becomes more obvious for people.

Yeah. You know, it's funny when we moved to Virginia from California, we it took us it was during co it took us a year and a half to find our permanent home. And we had a real estate agent and she became a close friend, but she started to get frustrated with us. And the reason being is my wife and I, we refuse to buy a new home that smells, we call it the formald, the formaldahhide homes. When you walk into some of these newly built homes, they smell like puke, you know, it's like this pukey smell. And it's just the offging. And every time she would bring us to one of these homes, it's like, "Nope." We'd walk in, it's like, "You don't want to see it?" It's like, "Nope." The smell, the smell. We have a home that was built in it's as old as me. It was built in 1962 or ' 61 and we decide to take that home and fix it up and not, you know, and not add any of those chemical laden things. You know, it's hard. You got to find the real wood. You got to find all this stuff. But you it's hard to get around those homes. And if people are living in these new newly built homes, it has that formaldahhide smell, that pukey smell.

It smells like puke to me. I don't know about you, but this place, well, this place seems to be well built. There's no smell here. This house was built in the 70s. It was built, so it was built before they started using all of that crap. Yeah. And by the way, not for nothing, you have three kids. Kids usually I have one kid. They come with smells. You There's no kid smell here. There's no, you know, I don't know if you have dogs or cats or anything. I haven't seen anything, but it doesn't smell like kids live here. It doesn't smell like

No, we keep we keep it clean. Yeah. And you know, it's to me it's has just as obvious. And if someone's already not filtering their water and they're, you know, they're if you're drinking tap water and you're eating fast food every day, Jaspr is probably not for you. This is pro, you're probably not listening to this podcast either. True. So, I've just found like how remarkable that people are taking lots of supplements and supplements. It's supplement. It's supplementary. It's not the primary. The primary is your air, your water, your food, sunlight. Then on top of that, you supplement. So just seeing people go

To like a functional medicine doctor, a naturopath, and they get four, five, six pages to fill out about their health, and the doctor, the naturopath didn't ask them about their air or their water, about how they sleep, right? Like what's going on here? So, yeah, we're just on a big mission to make that very obvious for people because you could look at look at the reviews that like so a lot of people they're snoring, next thing you know they're on a CPAT machine. Yeah.

And we have reviews all the time. This is not a claim. This is just what we're experiencing anecdotally. A lot of people message that they got rid of their CPAT machine or they're snoring a lot less. So, think about a CPAT machine. You need this machine to pump air down your throat, right? And the same guys that sell CPAT machines aren't putting an air filter in your bedroom. We're not even thinking. Let's just pump that moldy chemical filled air deeper down your throat without also filtering it. So this is all about awareness, right? Like it's all about awareness. And I love once you become air aware, you start to pay attention to all kinds of things. Yeah.

And I always say there is one side effect that you may not like to having a Jaspr is you might become an air snob. Yeah. And I have become an air snob. And if you would have said this to me two years ago, I would have said, "This is bullshit." I had the little thing under my desk. I think we had two of them in the house. And that's why you're like a really a perfect person to talk to about it because of your you know, we started the podcast and the whole thing. You had a very nice healthy dose of skepticism.

Oh, I was completely full of skepticism. And by the way, had you not sent that thing to me, I wouldn't have ever bought one. It's like this thing is a thousand bucks. I'm not going to buy this. You sent it to me and did not say anything. You didn't say, "Try this." You said nothing to me. You just said, "Here's the thing." And I was saying, "I'll just throw it in my office." That's so cool. Yeah. So, this didn't come out of any This is not an infomercial. You know, we don't send it and be like, "We here's how you got to do it. Post something on Instagram." None of that stuff.

You told me nothing. You were like, "Thanks for having me on the podcast. Here's my product." And my wife looked at it and it was just too big. And now we can't get enough of them. That's the best. You know, the analogy I use for the way that we like to gift, I learned this about oak trees. So an oak tree has about 10,000 acorns every year. Yeah. And of that 10,000, I think like 300 sprout. Maybe a hundred of them or 30 of them become like a small tree and only one becomes a mature tree. Yeah.

So the oak tree can't be worried about the 9,999 acorns. They went into the earth. The squirrels ate them. It's all good. But then that one becomes a big beautiful oak tree. Yeah. So when you when we give like this once in a while, you know that Jaspr made its way into your off into your office, a year later you find the dust situation and it just this is really cool, man. This is for me like what business is all about. And yeah, I re I really love the way that this is cuz there's like stories like this come all the time and it's really nice when we can share them.

Yeah. Look, I wouldn't drive for just anyone. I'm gonna be honest with you. And you know, we were talking out on your dock. We folks, you guys know me, you don't know Mike that well. We run businesses, it turns out almost identical. You know, I started a vitamin company at my kitchen table. You know, the idea was, what if, because I'm a nerd, what if I can create the world's best vitamin, right? And don't put magnesium steroid in it. Don't put titanium dioxide. Don't put any of the stuff that comes in a vitamin. So, I created the world's perfect vitamin. And then I went to manufacturers to try to get them to make hundreds and hundreds of thousands of this. And literally, everyone I spoke to in the United States said, "You're dreaming. You're dream. It's not it's never going to happen." And my question was, "Well, why?" And they said, "Well, we would have to slow the machinery down to make your product, you know, because we need the exipients and flow agents so that we can just run through these."

Interesting. And I finally found one guy in California and begged him. I said, "I'll pay more. Just slow the machinery down." And he said, "We'll do it just as a test. We don't think it can be done." But when you when you want to do something and you just work with we ended up making the purest vitamin in the world. No one else still today is doing that. And it's because just like you, we don't have bean counters. And when you were talking about the oak tree and all the because we have acorns falling all over my yard right now. It's driving me nuts.

And you know, we think of business the same way. No bean counters. Let's just make the best product. Put it out there. And I get the feeling that you're doing exactly the same thing or at least that's what we talked about before the mics went hot. Totally. Yeah. So I guess I'm asking I'm going to ask you on Mike, you know, I don't want to put you on the spot. Should we do this again? You want to I know if we should offer this to my audience again and try to do this

You know the way Jaspr works is basically between I don't even know what day this is coming out. Sometime. It's in November, I imagine. Yeah, it's not coming. It's the 18th. I'm doing this math out loud. It's the 18th of October. Probably early November this will come out. So, basically like between the months of January and November, right? All we do is we gift, we gift, we teach, we create, we do events, we educate as many people as we can. I learned for myself that when I look around my home, a lot of the things that are expensive and good, I tend to have bought them at a time of urgency. Either there was a good discount, there was a good deal, even if it was, you know, like the $1,200 robot vacuum.

Yeah. That I got for $900 or $1,000. Yeah. I found when I saw the deal, it like when's the right day to buy the thing, right? It's either like when you really, you know, the right day to buy an air scrubber is if there's wildfire smoke, you need it now. Guess what? It's probably sold out now. It's too late. You know, at the time when everybody wants it, you kind of missed the boat. Get your HVAC serviced before summertime. Yeah. So, what we like to do is, you know, teach people these once a year kind of season. It's Thanksgiving, it's Black Friday, it's holiday season. Two years ago, we sold out by over three months during Black Friday.

Wow. And you know, the Jaspr might look the same, but we're always improving the quality. We're always changing the features. We're always upgrading the fan. Any of your the anyone who has the old filters, they're going to see their next filter starting probably January, they're going to be white end caps cuz we're moving to coconut carbon. So, like we're constantly innovating here. So, yeah, we're going to do it again. This is the time of the year. You know, we don't want to be one of those brands who's always on sale and always discounting, but what we do want to do, and like I love your story and I so much appreciate that you drove down here. You know, if people want to sleep, I think this clean air, oh, the only thing that keeps you alive at night when you sleep is air. You breathe air when you're awake and when you sleep. And clean air is better breathing.

When you have good air, you have good sleep. When you have good sleep, you have good recovery. When you have good recovery, you have good performance. Whether that you're an athlete or a teacher or a businessman or a kid in school, it's just so obvious how good air equals good sleep and good sleep equals more energy and a better life. So, I'm not doing anything but this for a very long time. So, I want to give your audience an opportunity to get the Black Friday deal well before Black Friday cuz we very well will be sold out again. So, in full transparency, our Black Friday offer will be $300 off.

Yeah. We've improved a lot of things about the machine constantly. So you people may notice that there's a little bit different. Our promise is though we'll never change the size and shape of the Jaspr, right? Because that way the filter we can always upgrade the filter and always fit the machine. So anyone who has the old units like rest assured it's the same. So whatever today's day is sometime in November from today for the next we're going to run it through Black Friday. So from today till the end of November,

Right? Code VINNIE will be $300 off whether you buy one or you buy three. It will be $300 off. It's the same offer as Black Friday, but likely by the time Black Friday comes around, we will be sold out for a while. Yeah. And then we won't do discounts again until this time next year. And the other thing that's really important for us to mention is I am proud of the product we made, but I'm even more proud of our service. So, when you buy a Jaspr, you should really think about the filter has the magic,

Not the machine. It's the filter inside that's 4 12 lb that's very industrial. The machine is the one-time investment that looks beautiful that moves the air. But the filter is really the magic and it's the heart and soul of Jaspr. So, if your Jaspr ever breaks, we will ship you a brand new one. You take the new one out of the box. You put the old one in the box. We also give you a prepaid shipping label and we take the old one back. Then, we refurbish those in Austin and those are the ones that we gift to schools.

Yeah. But also you'll know in the first few days if Jaspr is a game changer for your life or not. If Jaspr is not a game changer for your life, $1 would be too expensive. And we'll buy your Jaspr back off you for full price and we'll cover the return cost of shipping because I hate when I buy something it has a good return policy and you got to ship it, but you got to pay them 100 bucks to ship it. We don't do that. We fully de-risk it. So either someone puts that Jaspr in their bedroom on fan speed 3 on dark mode with the light off and or in their living room on smart mode when they're cooking and they will have incredible sleep. And if that's the case, you know, you make the onetime investment of $899 and then for a little over a dollar a day, you have clean air for life. And if it ever breaks, we will replace it. If it doesn't work, we'll take it back. So, we like to educate people, talk to them. But this is the time of the year. So, if you would like to try Jaspr for you and your family, code VINNIE will be $300 off for the month of November. And then it will forever be $200 off. So, you know, after November, we're still going to make it $200 off, but $300 off is the cheapest you will ever find at Jaspr. Oh, shoot. I lied. It won't be $300 off. It'll be $350 off.

Really? Our Black Friday deal is $300 off. And my promise to you was that your audience would always have a better deal than the general public. So, it is $350 off. My bad, y'all. Hang on. All right. So, let me do the math. First off, let me see if we can figure this out. I'm talking to your producer off camera. When is the first Friday in November? Or let's see if we get I'm gonna see if I can get God. I wonder if I can get Can I get it up on the last couple of days of October?

Sooner or better, but early first. As soon as this comes out, you're telling me my audience promo code VINNIE. It's $350. Correct. Early Black Friday. And even if you see a $300 off on our website, use the code VINNIE and it will be $350 off. Wow. Okay, we're doing it. We're doing it. I'm doing this again. We'll run it back. You know, you could you could you and I never figure out stuff before the podcast. It's like 350 off to my audience.

Correct. Okay, folks. And there's a there's a there's actually one podcast that we've done it three years in a row. Yeah. This time of the year. And once again, each year, half the people who buy are people who bought one more or two more or three more. So, it's like this is the time of year to add a Jaspr for your kid's bedroom or you know, you have a Jaspr but your kid doesn't, right? And feel free to share the code with family or friends or anyone in your life that could benefit from Clean Air.

All right. And you know what? As soon as this show comes out, I'm going to retrofit this ad into my other shows because the one question, you know, I still do these you don't know this because you don't know me that well, but I do these consultations. The people can go to vinnie.com and sign up and you know, for a couple of bucks, you get to talk to me for an hour and we put together programs and all. The number of people, first thing out of their mouth, love the Jaspr.

Great. Love the J. So, I'm sure those people are going to be the ones because look, I'm here. If anyone ever has a like if by the way, if you email our team and you have like a really big raving review, if you live in Austin, we'll come to your house. If not, we'll hop on a Zoom call with you and we'll send you a free filter. We would just if anyone has great stories from the past. We always hear about them secondhand, but reach out to us. We'll give your next filters on us if you share a Jaspr story with us.

Yeah. Yeah. Folks, call Jaspr. Give them your story. You're going to get you're going to get a filter. I can't believe you're sending me two more. Two more. Wow. I mean, this strip was worth every dime. Gas ain't cheap right now. This is worth every dime. I can't believe this, dude. This is great. So I'm going to try to get this out. Early Black Friday. I mean, is that even a thing?

It is now. And we just made it a thing. So, we're going to do early Black Friday with John. You know, people only have so much budget per year, right? We all do. And like let's give them the best offers early. So instead of getting more TV screens and all that stuff, like get the health purchases done first. And maybe in 2027, Jaspr will over time will become the second maybe we'll do some ads together in 2027. I love the way you do the ad, man. That was so cool.

Yeah, we'll just keep doing it. And as a matter of fact, when I leave here, I'm calling my brother because his daughter, my niece, she was thinking, you know, she doesn't make all the money in the world. And she was on the fence about a Jaspr. I'm going to just tell her to hold off for about a week and a half and she can save 350 bucks. She can. Wow. Cool. And if it doesn't change your life, we'll take it back. But it will because it always does.

Well, this has been amazing. I hope I get invited back here again because Come back anytime. You know, the only thing you don't have that I want is an archery range. Can we work an archery range? We're actually working on building one. Are you kidding? At the top of the driveway on the right hand side. We're working on building a range. No kidding. Are you into archery at all? Not yet. Oh, dude. You're going to get in. Once you Once you get in, it's like being on crack. I've never been on crack, but

But you imagine it would be similar. Yeah. If I was on drugs, it would that's the one. I love I love aiming at things. It relaxes my brain. And what kind of bow? I do recurve. So, most people now do the, the compound bows because, you know, you can, it's a stronger thing and it's a big let off, so you're not holding 65 pounds of pressure.

Recurve is the ones you see in the Olympics, like a long bow. Yeah, it's a big long bow and these guys are shooting out to 70 m. But, you know, I love shooting. I love bowling. I suck at bowling. I love anything where I'm aiming at a target because it takes my brain out of everything else and I'm just doing that focus. And you can't really have a bowling alley at your house because it's a whole deal.

I shoot ski and trap and sporting plays, but you have to go to the place and every time you shoot a shotgun shell now you need another shotgun shell. With archery, you collect the ammunition and go back and shoot it again and collect the ammunition and go back and shoot it again. You know, this summer I write down everything. I've I'm not that voracious, but I've gone over 7,000 arrows this summer down range.

Damn. Think about if that was a shotgun shell. 7,000 shotgun shell. It's not cheap. No. Right. But the arrows not good for the air either. No. It's like you just shoot the arrows over and over right in your backyard. So hopefully next time I come, we will build the archery range. We'll send you photos and you will come down and maybe spend a couple nights. Bring your wife if you'd like. We'll put a Jaspr in the bedroom. Cool. And we'll do

We don't have to put a Jaspr in the bedroom. There's a Jaspr in the bedroom. That's right. There's like a little playroom downstairs. Two Jasprs in it. It's like I went around this whole place going, "Oh, they're everywhere." And they're all on. They're on. Yeah. Don't turn them off. Yeah. I quit turning mine off. Good. Thank God. Yeah. It's great. So, folks, I'm going to say it. Yeah. We're close to the end of the show here. So, I'm going to say it one more time. Go right now to Jaspr. Now, Jaspr, turns out Mike ain't good at spelling. Okay. Is J A P R. There's no E in there. J A S P R.

Co. There's no M either. I spelled that wrong, too. He's cheap on words. He's lazy on words. I'm an air guy. Yeah, he's Yeah. What does he know? He's an air guy. The guy is a remediation guy. Yeah, I'm just a mold man. Yeah, he's just But by the way, I need to get a few of these people so they could get their free filter. The number of people say, "I had black mold in my house. I had this and that. My wife was sick. I need to get these people to find folks. If you're listening to the podcast and you had any of the stories that you told me on the phone calls, contact Jaspr. They want to hear these stories first. First 10 people.

Yeah. Yeah. Get these stories to Jaspr. Before I go I now I'm thinking of something else. You mentioned a new type of filter. You just kind of coconut carbon. All right. How's that different than carbon? So activated carbon is typically made two ways. Either with coal or with trees. I'm embarrassed, guys. I got to admit something to y'all. I went deep, dive deep up our supply chain. Well, the way activated carbon is made is by cutting down trees.

So, based on the amount of filters we're shipping per year, roughly a thousand mature trees would be getting cut down. And it sent me on this like deep mission of like going upstream on supply chains and figuring stuff out cuz people got all these brands and they don't even know where the ingredients are coming from when you go really way up. Our loco is a tree. Those are the real air filters in this world. And we were contributing to cutting down a thousand trees a year and we're just a small niche air scrubber brand. How about these guys selling millions of these things? So it's costing us more. Our price will not change though. We're moving to coconut carbon.

Okay, what's cool is you can actually our cost will go up, but the odor removal will be way better. The formaldahhide removal is way better. The VOCC removal is way better. And it uses the recycled coconut husks. So they can still use the milk and the meat and the fi and then we take the fibers, they heat them up and they have a process to turn that into carbon. So and whether you've been a whether you're a brand new customer or an old one, you're the new filters that just keep coming. You're going to see they're going to change from turquoise end caps to white. Once you see the white end caps, you'll know that you got the new coconut carbon filters.

You're like an Indian that killed a buffalo. You use every bit of it. You know, you're using the skin, you're using the bones to make tools, you're using the intrails to do whatever m making, you know, for your bow. We have almost 2,000 return cuz we all we don't send customers refurbs. We send them brand new units. So now we have a couple thousand Jasprs that have been collecting here and now we're thinking with 2,000 steel shells, do we build gardens or walls or how do we reinforce things or turn them into garbage cans? So, we're thinking now how to repurpose all those steel shells to build new things cuz

I would buy Casper garbage can. I mean, we could put light in there. You can put a speaker in there. We just don't want to put them in the landfill. We're not doing that. And in fact, we were all talking about like if we are going to put them in the landfill, we're going to take them ourselves so we can all feel the impact of what we're doing. U but we're not going to put them in the landfill. No, that's so much we're going to we're going to we're going to repurpose them. Yeah. Metal can be re you know, you can do so many things. So, it's going to be awesome. I'll think about that when I'm driving and if I come up with something, I'll give you a call because that's what I do once something is in my brain. It just

Think about how to recycle Jasprs. Yeah, we'll figure it out. Folks, go right now Jaspr.co, j-a-s-p-r dot co. And it's not Vinnie, it's just Jaspr.co. And then at checkout, put in promo code VINNIE.
