Today’s One-on-One is with Shoshana Chaim.  Shosh and her husband, Adam, are co-f0unders of Plant Trainers which advocates a plant-based lifestyle.  Today they discuss mental health…depression and post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

POST TRAUMATIC STRESS DISORDER

  • Traumatic stress event began at the beginning of Shosh’s second pregnancy when she found out that Adam had a tumor
  • Went to hypnotist to help her with crippling anxiety and depression
  • Was told she had PTSD
  • Hypnotist had her go back 5 years to when trauma started

ANGER AND WOMEN

  • Have to find source of stress and figure out how to resolve it
  • Hard on marriage
  • Shosh found herself being mean to Adam when she is normally quite passive
  • Women need to be strong and stick together

IS IT OK TO GO ON MEDICATION

  • Shosh realized she needed to go on meds to be emotionally healthy
  • She does want to find more natural ways and eventually decrease or go off meds
  • Alternative medicine, such as acupuncture can help
