Why We Get Fat & Good Calories Bad Calories by GaryTaubesGOOD CALORIES BAD CALORIES by Gary Taubes | WHY WE GET FAT by Gary Taubes

As many of you know, Gary Taubes is one of the most downloaded guests we have ever had on The Angriest Trainer Podcast. I am not surprised by that fact. Gary is a well-versed science writer. He doesn’t make up the science. He studies it, he interprets it. In both of his books, WHY WE GET FAT and GOOD CALORIES, BAD CALORIES, he goes back more than 100 years to show that the science has been there all along, and that somewhere along the way, the train jumped the track.

Why am I reviewing 2 books at the same time? Because these two books are the same books. In GOOD CALORIES, BAD CALORIES, Taubes writes a basic textbook. It’s laborious at best. But hey, some people are into that and they may love this book. In my opinion, what Taubes did in his second book on the subject, WHY WE GET FAT, is he writes it in a way that anyone and everyone can understand. I find this book to be a great read and whether you have a weight problem or not, it is great reinforcement.

Disclosure: This business is built on trust and authenticity. In that spirit, we have an Amazon.com affiliate account and receive a small commission when you purchase either of these books through the link on this page. That commission does not affect the price of the books nor does it affect our opinion of the books. If we didn’t like them, we wouldn’t add them to the NSNG Book Club.
