BEAUTY CONTESTS

• The two recorded this from Miami
• There are two beauty contests going on
• Miss Florida and Miss Teen Florida US
• The older girls are all stunning – all could be in the Miss USA contest!
• All of these girls walking around in sashes and high heels even though this is not where the competition is being held
  • Makeup and hair done to the 9s
• Younger girls seem to be wearing clothing way too mature and old for them OR they look like they’re wearing 1980s prom dresses
• So many psycho pageant moms in the hotel
  • Stage moms on steroids, living vicariously through their kids
    • Many of these young girls seem miserable
• These contests are being set up for failure
  • These pageants can be super damaging for body image and the like 
    • Can affect young girls really negatively
• Vinnie wishes he could interview some of these girls (but he couldn’t)
• More than anything, these kids’ good intentions have been stolen
  • Lost their childhoods as their parents sexualize them
