Episode 722 – Vinnie and Andy explain the difference between sugar content and added sugar as well as answer many listener questions such as the pros and cons of coconut oil vs. MCT oil, orange juice vs. oranges, and more.

HUNTING

  • Tallulah foxhunts in Virginia
    • Involves a pack of hounds chasing foxes (or coyotes in California) with people on horseback following and keeping the hounds in check
  • Ducks Unlimited has done more to conserve and help ducks in the US and Canada than any other group

SUGAR CONTENT

  • You obviously want a lower sugar content, but sugar added is the worst
  • You need to see where the sugar is coming from
  • Sugar content is coming from lactose in dairy products
    • If your body can handle dairy, eating dairy products with sugar content but no sugar added shouldn’t be an issue

MCT OIL VS. COCONUT OIL

  • They act in your body in the same way
  • MCT oil is more expensive, but coconut oil will do just as well
  • Vinnie actually think coconut oil has an advantage

ORANGE JUICE VS. ORANGES

  • When you juice an orange, it loses the fiber
    • The fiber is what slows down the glucose spike
