    • Works with the Lakers
      • Director of Lakers’ PRO Nutrition Program
    • A genius when it comes to glands
  • Dr. Cate wants folks to understand that carbs pile up so quickly
  • Dr. Cate does not like the use of vegetable oils
  • Check out her book, Deep Nutrition
    • Your genes need traditional foods
      • Eating and processing grains is a new thing if one looks at the big picture of evolution
        • We aren’t supposed to eat processed foods!

GENESIS OF THE LOW-FAT MOVEMENT

  • As Vinnie mentions often, the low-fat movement was started by the sugar industry, starting in the 60s and moving into the 70s and 80s
    • Ancel Keys did a study, but eliminated all data that disagreed with his hypothesis to prove a (false) point
  • The Standard American Diet was not even followed by the man who did the research on saturated fats
  • The SAD was a policy, which is why people followed it
    • There is no proof that is actually prevents diseases, and the like
  • In 2015, the SAD mentioned that cholesterol is no longer a nutrient of concern
    • This important information did not get any press, and that is why people are so misinformed and afraid
