- Kyphosis
- the “hump” back
- Scoliosis
- sideways curvature of the spine
AHA SUGAR RECOMMENDATIONS
- Says most kids are eating 3x more sugar than they should be
- No more than 6 teaspoons of added sugar (25g), kids under age 2 no sugar at all
- Finally, some sense!!!
- This is confusing, though, because they post lots of conflicting info
- While this is a start, Vinnie does not think this is enough
- Much sugar comes from cakes, cookies, sports drinks, sodas, etc.
- Just one can of coke goes over this!
- Vanilla yogurt hits 6 teaspoons
- July 2018, labels will be more accurate
AVOIDING CARBPHOBIA
- You do not need to freak out about all foods with some amount of carbs
- For example, if you eat a tomato, you are fine!
- However, if you eat a ton of tomato sauce, it gets carbier
- Can be bad for people with A1C problems
- Type 2 diabetes and such
- You are concentrating the sugar when you turn it into a puree
- Still not nearly as bad as some other foods with added sugars
- Can be bad for people with A1C problems
- However, if you eat a ton of tomato sauce, it gets carbier
- Don’t freak out about what you eat — as long as it is NSNG, you’re on the right path
- What Vinnie always says, “nobody ever got fat from just eating fruit”
- EAT YOUR BROCCOLI
- Can’t take all food at face value
- For example, if you are eating corn on a cob it’s certainly different from puree corn, popcorn, and corn chips
- It is ok to top your zucchini pasta with some tomato sauce!
