BRIAN AND DANNY

  • Brian’s son has epilepsy and was put on a ketogenic diet
    • Brian started a ketogenic diet to lead by example, lost a lot of weight

  • Danny is a power lifter and also is ketogenic, so now the two host the show together!

  • Danny was told forever when he started power lifting that he needed carbs
    • Eventually started carb cycling
    • Didn’t like eating carbs, once he became keto, everything got so much better
  • It is completely possible to gain lots of muscle mass on a ketogenic diet
  • Danny does lots of distance stuff now and has not put life into living at all
    • He also only consumes half of the protein he used to consume
  • Brian learned a ton about a ketogenic diet because of his son, just like Jim Abrams and his son
    • Ketogenic diet can cure epilepsy for 30% of kids who are put on it
      • Another 30% have their seizures reduced to a manageable point where they can live a full life
      • It changes neural pathways
      • Ketones burn cleaner, easier on the brain 
  • Your brain does not need sugar to live
    • Your brain runs more efficiently on ketones than on sugar
  • In a ketogenic diet, after the keto flu that some feel, most will have mental clarity and better recall
    • For Danny, it has been a huge game-changer in his brain function
      • He is in “Doom God-mode”
    • For Brian, the ketogenic diet helped his depression immensely 
      • He felt near-euphoric within days of being in ketosis
        • He had battled depression for ages as he had been hooked on sugar and grains
