KETOSIS AND WEIGHT LOSS
- There was a study that came out that said ketogenic diet was not conducive to weight loss
- Contradicts much of what we know!
- From the medical community that implements this diet for medical purposes, even they agree that this diet is helpful for weight loss
- Weight loss is a “side effect” of ketosis
- Ketosis dampens your appetite
- When you are eating ketogenic diet, you will feel more sated from less
- You also stop eating less processed crap which is the stuff that makes you hungrier
- Exogenous ketones: these are the ketones that you can consume in powder
- Can help get into ketosis without actually consuming that much of fat
- Better just to be in real ketosis, consuming lots of fat
- Exogenous ketones can help some, but others it has no effect
- Dr. D’Agostino did this experiment with rodents
- They were eating carb diets, and a good amount did not lose weight even with exogenous ketones
- Some were able to lose 15% body fat, but this was only in a few
- They are looking into why that is the case
