FRANZISKA SPRITZLER

  • She is a dietitian
    • Usually, Vinnie advises people against dietitians, BUT Franziska is an exception!
    • She teaches low carb, and helps folks with a variety of metabolic/blood sugar issues
  • Also a certified diabetes educator
  • Resides in Los Angeles as well
  • Check out her website here!

LOW CARB DIETITIAN

  • Went back to school in her mid-30s to become a dietitian after being a court reporter for many years
    • She didn’t used to eat low carb, although she did always eat a lot of veggies
      • Once she went low-carb, she started eating meat again as well
    • Went to Cal State Long Beach
  • She learned a lot about chemistry and biochemistry and how food is absorbed
    • Did not learn about actual diets until the very end
  • She realized that what she learned about metabolism and what diets she learned to prescribe were very different
    • She was taught that low fat and whole grains are good
      • That did not make sense with the metabolic processes
  • Realized that people were gaining weight from that recommended diet, and people could not get off of medications
  • Once she and her husband got life insurance, she realized her blood sugar was higher than she’d like (near diabetic), and then dove into the world of low carbs
    • Did her own research and realized brown rice and ‘healthy food’ shot her blood sugar straight up
  • She has found great success helping diabetics, those with metabolic syndrome, and those with PCOS through a low carb diet
  • Carb restricted diet containing a good amount of fat has amazing results for everyone, especially those with issues controlling blood sugar
  • Began a private practice
