Angriest Trainer 337 The NSNG 100 Day Challenge

Welcome to the Tuesday edition of The Angriest Trainer. Vinnie and today’s guest got their times crossed, so…no guest. But no problem for Vinnie and Anna. As usual, they chat about running and fitness and listener questions..and they also get Andy Schreiber, CEO of Pure Vitamin Club, to talk about the 100-day challenge…that’s 100 days of pure, clean NSNG. Listen and learn…

SERENA DOES A 50 MILE RIDE

  • Serena ran the Avalon 50 Benefit Run, a 50 mile run on Catalina
  • She finished and did an amazing job and raised money for InSitu Foundation which trains dogs to use their sense of smell to detect early signs of cancer
  • At 5 am the morning of the race it started pouring and it rained all day
  • Everyone was ill-prepared for the cold weather and rain

LISTENER QUESTIONS

  • Emily Washburn of Austin, TX tried Paleo for about 6 weeks
  • She is trying NSNG again
  • She wants to know about wine and cheese
  • Wine has a lot of sugar and will give you an insulin spike and you cannot eat cheese without impunity

ANDY STARTS THE 100-DAY CHALLENGE

  • The Facebook NSNG Group was challenged to do pure NSNG for 100 days
  • Andy started on January 1, 2015
  • It’s hard eating out…there’s sugar where you don’t expect it
  • He lost 5 lbs in 14 days, but don’t weigh yourself every day

TRANSITION TO 100 DAYS

  • Coming off a lot of holiday sugar
  • Sugar cravings build gradually through December
  • New Year’s Eve, Andy had a lot of sugar
  • After a while on NSNG, cravings seem to cease for most people
  • It’s 100 days of “No life into living”
